When applying for a new job I would choose Ryan Brod, Barbara Lewis, and Dawn McDermott as my ideal references.

Ryan Brod is an English and writing professor at the University of New England, and throughout my three semesters here I’ve taken two classes with him so far. He has seen me working in a school environment at a number of different times, and for various types of writing classes including creative writing and english composition. He has seen my ability to work in a group setting, as well as the work that I have put into individual assignments. I think that he would be able to speak highly about my work ethic and attention to detail.

Barbara Lewis is the head teacher and my old boss from the Forestdale Extended Day Program. I worked alongside her for years learning a lot from her, eventually allowing me to work more independently. I think that Barb would speak about the dedication that I have to my work, and the initiative that I brought to the classroom every day, completing tasks without being asked. She would also commend my communication skills and my ability to manage several situations simultaneously.

Finally, I would choose Dawn McDermott, a family friend that I worked for as a garden assistant over the summer of 2020. She can speak about me on a personal level, highlighting my open mindedness and personability that she believes makes me approachable and easy to talk to. She would also mention my flexibility in the work environment allowing me to pick up new instructions quickly.
