I am definitely going to be making a calm down video to help ease some of the anxiousness that I always get before an important event like an interview or a presentation. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of calming down and trying to relax is nature. The sights and sounds of nature are something that can help to put me at ease in almost any situation.
I’m thinking that I’ll do a mixture of several different landscape scenes (any videos that I have taken that I can find), with the audio to accompany them so that I’m able to close my eyes and focus on the sounds if I choose. However, I also want to include some text in my video similarly to the example that we watched in class, in case I feel like I need to be motivated throughout the video as well. I would ideally like to include a rainforest scene, falling snow or falling rain, ocean waves, and the ripple of a stream. I would like to include each of these characteristics in some form whether it be a combination of both video and audio that match and can be played along with each other, or a photo with sound playing over it and words to read.
As for the words in the video I would like to include some sort of breath work that can be read and done along with the video if wanted. Specifically for this video I wanted to practice the four, seven, eight breath wherein you breathe in for four seconds, hold for seven seconds, and breathe out for eight seconds. This breath in particular is good for alleviating stress and anxiety which will be very helpful for this project.
