The best advice that I received from one of my peers during the workshop portion of our speech was to determine how I could leave the audience with something meaningful, and incorporate that into my conclusion. During this point of the revision process I was still trying to figure out what the conclusion of my speech was going to look and sound like. My goal was to hone in on the main points while also being sure not to sound too repetitive or overly cheesy.
Receiving this advice ended up being the push that I needed because it falls in line very nicely with what the goal of my speech had been from the beginning. If not to persuade my peers to take action, I at least wanted them to be left thinking about what I had said after the speech itself had concluded. This advice from my peer ended up helping me to create the conclusion that I have now, which is one that I think does the trick and will stick well.
