The final round of peer review certainly went better than I expected it to. However, after watching my video back, there are definitely still a few things that I can work on improving before the final delivery of my speech. This includes things like making more eye contact with the audience by only referring to my outline when needed, and finding something to do with my hands so they don’t become distracting. However, I am planning to use my visual aid to help with this. I think that both of these things will grow stronger and become easier to do just by repeatedly practicing until the final presentation date.
On the other hand, I think I did well with the pace of my speech and being conscious about not talking too fast despite my nervousness. I also felt more confident this time around which I think helped me connect with my audience more. Although I’m striving to look at my outline even less for the final presentation, I could see that there was definitely an improvement between the first day of peer review and the second day. I think this aspect will help me a lot during the final stretch of this project. Seeing my peers become more engaged with me and my content when I provided them more to engage with was uplifting.
