Professor Brod is a first- year ENG composition teacher but in the past used to teach Creative Nonfiction writing at University of New England. He has a degree in MFA (Master of Fine Arts) in creative writing from University of Southern Maine’s Stonecoast program.

Brod encourages his students to use the resources available for all students and even utilizes the library in class times to help students get familiar with the computers in there or getting research done. Also believes that asking questions to your professors or other peers can help when you don’t understand something in class or in general. Professor Brod says the best way to get out there is join clubs, the campus activities that the faculty puts on for the first year students, go to home games, and “Challenge yourself to talk to someone new every day”

When asking Professor Brod about the best way to manage your time here at UNE, he pointed out to using a detailed calendar, marking down due dates for your big projects and papers, taking advantage of study groups, tutoring options at SASC, and Writing Lab. Also set reminders on your phone and give yourself extra time for college-level readings and essays.
